From a Box Brownie, to the latest digital gear, it is all just tools, or a means of stating who we are, at various points in time. The sophistication of our images has more to do with our personal growth, than the equipment that we acquire along the way.

Just a little closer with my camera on macro mode. This is hand held, and holding my breath. No tripod again......
Today, my wife and I decided to visit a local garden center to browse through the latest offerings for the upcoming Christmas Season. As usual, there was a sea of Poinsettias everywhere you looked. But after a few minutes there, I found myself at the very back corner of the greenhouse, and there quietly blooming away was this lovely orchid. It was backlit beautifully, and I couldn't help but ask permission of the clerk to photograph it. Christmas offerings will appear when I finally get in the spirit, and I always feel that we are pushed into the season by commercialism before most of us are in the mood to do so. So I am rebelling by refusing to shoot Christmas scenes and items just yet.
