Changing Landscape in Essex County

Sunday was a rainy, dreary day for January, but the sun kept trying to break through occasionally. We went for a drive out to nowhere in particular, and found ourselves out near the town of Harrow, in Essex County. There has been much news lately about Windsor/Essex being the proposed locale for setting up windmills to generate electricity. It sort of surprised me that they had already started in earnest on the project, as this photo suggests. However, when I looked around the area, there were approximately 20 or so of them laying around on the ground. At first it looked like they were parts of an aircraft, but upon closer examination, it became apparent that it was just the various parts waiting to be assembled and erected. It crossed my mind that when all of these windmills get operating, how the birds will fare, as this area is known as a major migration path for our winged friends. But I am sure the large Korean multinational has taken that into account....... right? Just to the right of this photo was a "For Sale" sign on the property, and I wish them good luck with that.

Actually that project is an UK Conglomerate, International Power. There are hundreds of turbines planned for Essex Co. and that's even before Samsung gets here.
