Hidden.....

It has been so long since my last posting, I was worried that I would forget how to sign in. The reason being is that I am in the middle of renovating the kitchen, and have stripped it down to the bare studs, and have dropped the ceiling to expose the wiring also. In the process of dropping the ceiling, a VERY dirty one at that, I found this empty bottle of gin tucked away amongst the insulation up there. It has been there since 1953, and the thing that really made me laugh, was that about 10 minutes later, I found a booklet from Alcoholics Anonymous, also tucked away up there. The price of this bottle of gin back then was on a label on the back which said LCBO $3.75! It gave me a good laugh, when I was covered in dirt that had fallen on me. The house is made of plaster board, and I am so glad that little chore is finally done. Other little treasures that I found were a pair of pliers and an old tire iron, similar to the one I used to use as a boy, changing tires by hand in an old BP garage out in Newfoundland. You never know when you will be reminded of the past. I'm still hoping to discover a box with a large amount of money up there! Yeah right! Now, it's back to work......

Are you sure it was empty when you found it David? Anyway lots of luck with your renovations. Marianne is also looking at re-doing our kitchen as a matter of fact we just came back from a business on Main Street which designs and installs beautiful kitchens.
Hope to see your pictures of the renovations on your blog.
