Driving Miss Daisy Poster

This is a sample of my efforts on behalf of the Rose City Players, and this poster and several others should be on display in the front of the Hungarian Cultural Center, where the play will be performed. This is a "fly by the seat of my pants" thing, as I had never been involved in anything like this before, except for when my kids were in the Drama group with Widdifield High School, in North Bay. It was directed by Marty and Art Southcott, and I remember the kids going off to Muncie, Indiana, USA to perform the various plays. Back then, I was into Black & White photography, and spent many many many happy hours in the darkroom, souping film, and printing photos, with the CBC station playing Classical music into the wee hours of the morning....of course, the odd "sniff" of Captain Morgan helped with the focusing etc.....

Driving Miss Daisy Flyer.....

Something a little different today. For the past few weeks, I have been involved in a little volunteer project which enables me to make a few more acquaintances here in Windsor. For the most part, it has been a totally unfamiliar environment for me. However, it is an opportunity to learn and get a different perspective on things. The Producer - Director, Mr. Ted Broad asked me to do a little flyer for this stage production, and he gave me a rough draft on a piece of paper of the information that it should have. So I combined the text over top of an old car that I had photographed over in Amherstberg and came up with this little flyer which will be distributed around the community. If you are in the area and would like to take in this play or dinner show, use the info on this and have yourself a fun evening.....

P.S. It was nice to see a couple more people join my Followers list recently. Welcome aboard Jennifer Bridgeforth and Adam Afiq. I hope you will find my musings and ramblings somewhat interesting, and my photography efforts helpful or enjoyable......

By Net Lake, Ont.

On our most recent trip to Northern Ontario, we stopped for an evening snack beside Net Lake, just north of Temagami, Ont. As I was swatting bugs, I noticed the warmth of the light on this purple weed not far from our table. There is a different slant and quality of the light in Northern Ontario, as compared to Southwestern Ontario. That seems to hold true for all seasons of the year. The light has more contrast and harshness to it here in Windsor it seems. This would likely go mostly unnoticed by most folks, but it is certainly noticeable to me, as a photographer. Even the slightest variance of lighting has an effect on the outcome of an image. This little weed is nothing special, but the nice lighting provided by the evening sun was something that gave me quite a bit of pleasure. Hope you don't mind if I share it with you also.....
