Hosta Abstract...

It has been a while since I was last on here, and we somehow survived the Christmas/New Year festivities. So, to start out 2018, I decided to post this rendition of a hosta blossom that looks like it is embedded into a plaster surface of sorts. When I started this image, I was working with some new software that I was not too familiar with. That was due to good old Microsoft deciding on Christmas Eve to update my computer with their latest version of Windows 10. After that, my Photoshop CS3 would no longer work, as well as a couple of other items...Merry Christmas eh! Anyway, I refuse to pay a monthly fee to Adobe for their Creative Cloud software, regardless of how wonderful it is. There are other alternatives, and it looks like I shall have to go exploring. If Corel or any of the other photo editing software companies decide to go the Creative Cloud route, then it is back to the darkroom for this old guy. At this point, I don't care to be bullied by big companies like Microsoft or Adobe. Since most of my photo editing is done in Corel Paint Shop Pro, I probably will not have to go back into the darkness again for a while.....then again, I used to enjoy the smell of developer and fixer on my hands after a long evening in the darkroom, listening to classical music on the old radio....Happy 2018 to everyone! Lets hope the idiots keep their fingers away from "the" buttons on their desks....
